故事內容
Once upon a time, in a green valley, there was a forest called Whisperwood.
The trees in Whisperwood were very old and very wise.
They could talk to each other through their roots and leaves.
But no human had ever heard them.
One sunny afternoon, a little girl named Lily was playing near the edge of the forest.
She loved to climb trees and listen to the birds.
That day, she sat under a giant oak tree and closed her eyes.
Suddenly, she heard a soft, rumbling voice.
"Welcome, little one," said the voice.
Lily opened her eyes wide. "Who said that?" she whispered.
"I did," said the oak tree. "I am Elder Oak, the speaker of the Ancient Council."
Lily could not believe her ears. She could understand the tree!
"You have a kind heart," said Elder Oak. "That is why you can hear us."
Just then, a worried whisper came from a nearby maple.
"The stream is drying up," said the maple. "The baby ferns are thirsty."
Lily looked at the ground. The soil was cracked and dry.
"What can I do to help?" she asked.
Elder Oak rustled his leaves. "You must call the Ancient Council," he said.
Lily did not know what that meant.
"Follow the roots," said Elder Oak. "They will guide you."
Lily put her hand on the rough bark.
A warm feeling traveled up her arm.
She began to walk, and the roots under her feet glowed softly.
She walked past birches and pines, past willows and beeches.
Each tree whispered a secret as she passed.
"The bees are sad," whispered a cherry tree.
"The mushrooms are shrinking," sighed a fir tree.
Lily felt a little sad too.
Soon she came to a clearing in the middle of the forest.
In the center stood five very old trees.
They were the Ancient Council.
There was Elder Oak, Wise Willow, Gentle Birch, Strong Pine, and Sweet Apple.
"Lily," said Wise Willow, "you are the first human to join our council."
"We need your help," said Gentle Birch.
"The stream is blocked by a pile of old branches and mud," said Strong Pine.
"If we do not fix it, the whole forest will suffer."
Lily thought for a moment. "I can bring my friends," she said.
She ran home and told her parents about the forest.
Her parents smiled and helped her gather a bucket and a small shovel.
Lily also asked the forest animals for help.
A squirrel named Nutty came first.
Then a rabbit named Fluffy.
Then a robin named Chirpy.
They all followed Lily to the blocked stream.
The pile of branches and mud was very big.
But Lily did not give up.
She started pulling small sticks away.
Nutty the squirrel dug at the mud with his tiny paws.
Fluffy the rabbit pushed leaves aside.
Chirpy the robin sang a song to cheer everyone up.
Soon, a little trickle of water appeared.
Then a bigger flow.
Finally, with a happy gurgle, the stream began to run again.
The water sparkled in the sunlight.
All the trees in the forest let out a soft, happy sigh.
Elder Oak spoke. "Thank you, Lily. You have saved our home."
Lily smiled. "I just listened," she said.
"Listening is the greatest gift," said Wise Willow.
That evening, the sky turned pink and gold.
A gentle rain began to fall.
The raindrops sang a lullaby on the leaves.
Lily sat under Elder Oak, feeling warm and safe.
She knew the forest would always be her friend.
From that day on, Lily visited the Ancient Council every week.
She learned the language of the roots, the leaves, and the wind.
She taught other children how to listen to trees.
And the forest grew greener and happier than ever before.
Sometimes, if you walk very quietly into Whisperwood,
you might hear a soft whisper.
It is the Ancient Council, saying thank you.
And if you are very lucky, you might hear them say your name.
For the trees are always listening.
They are waiting for a kind heart to hear them.
And that is the most wonderful secret of all.
